Transfer 5, semana 3

Hello! Whew, this week has been a whirlwind. Lots and lots of meetings, but that's just how missionary life is. Wednesday we had Zone Council and District Council. They lasted for quite a while and took a lot of the day. Then we had a lesson on the far edges of our area and did our weekly planning afterwards in the car in the church parking lot. Earlier in the day, the neighbors got a new couch delivered and we had fun watching them try to maneuver it through the door. Thursday was Earth, Wind, and Fire day. Boy did we remember. We very badly sang part of their song September in the car on our way home, since we can't listen to it. We also went to the Family History Center for Hermana Beard to do her college hour (an hour every week for the last six months of your mission where you plan for after you get home) and Hermana Cox and I had fun making silly surveys on Google Forms. Friday was a bad mental health day, I couldn't wake up and when I finally did, I didn't have a...

Hello! It's started getting chilly in the mornings here, which throws a wrench in our daily morning walks, so we've been stretching and doing yoga type things for our exercise. Winter will be upon us soon and I hope that I haven't outgrown the coat I have! (as some of my past companions have said: I've gained more than just a testimony on my mission). Wednesday was a fairly normal day, well, as normal as a missionary day can be. We had District Council and weekly planning, then got to work. We didn't have anyone signed up to feed us dinner, and decided to use that time to go out to the far side of our area and meet with one of our investigators out there. But it's a good thing we did, because right as we get there, we get a text from a member who lives just down the road asking us what time we'd be over for dinner! Apparently someone had signed up but no one ever told us who signed up for what day!! So we had a good lesson and a yummy dinner. Thursday we had...

It's a new transfer! I have left the small town of Aberdeen for another area, Paul, ID. My companions are Hermana Beard (again!) and Hermana Cox. Hermana Beard is in her last transfer, and will leave us a week early to go home. Hermana Cox is fresh off the plane from the Mexico City MTC, and is doing a great job. I'm the only one in the trio who can drive, since you can't drive your first or last transfer. But we've had a blast! Wednesday was the day that we were supposed to get transfer news, but it didn't come out until Thursday morning. We had to say goodbye to Hermana Pulu who was going to her originally assigned mission in El Salvador, she was serving here in the IPM while she waited for her visa. I'll miss her but I'm glad she gets to serve the people there.  When we got transfer news, we found out that Hermana Hyde was going to be going to Twin Falls, and I would go to Paul (north of Burley). We also went on a tour of one of the ward members farms. We...

Hello hello! Sorry for any confusion that may have come from my earlier email. Last week's didn't send so it had to go out this morning. I'm also sending this late, so didn't have time to attach pictures.  We've had a lot of rain here in the Aberdeen area. Harvest is delayed a little bit because the fields are too wet so that messes things up. But things are going well!  Wednesday after our District Council in Pocatello, we got a chip in our windshield filled in. They also vacuumed our car which was great because the day before on Pday, the car wash we normally go to wasn't accepting credit cards so we couldn't pay for a car wash. We also got to have lunch with the American Falls Hermanas which is always fun. Thursday, we were driving down the road and a rock came and chipped our newly fixed windshield  . We also got to attend a baptism that the American Falls Hermanas had and I felt weirdly anxious during it. Not exactly sure what caused it, but I have a gr...

Hello again everyone! The field is white and ready to harvest! Literally and figuratively. Potato harvest starts soon and that means the kids will be out of school for a few weeks to help with the harvest. I feel like I'm a potato expert now since living in Aberdeen for the past three months haha. This week was a hard one, I was really depressed for a good chunk of it and that really impeeds the work. But we still got out and did stuff! Wednesday we had district council and got our new missionary finance cards. We used to be with Bank of America but they had some changes so they changed us to a different bank. Otherwise it was a pretty slow day. Thursday was a hard day and I had a hard time getting going in the morning. Sleep troubles and depression make it difficult to wake up sometimes. But we pushed through and survived through the day. We also had a really good lesson with the kids from Kenya so that was awesome. Friday was another hard morning, I slept in on accident and we di...
