Transfer 5, semana 3
Hello!
Whew, this week has been a whirlwind. Lots and lots of meetings, but that's just how missionary life is.
Wednesday we had Zone Council and District Council. They lasted for quite a while and took a lot of the day. Then we had a lesson on the far edges of our area and did our weekly planning afterwards in the car in the church parking lot. Earlier in the day, the neighbors got a new couch delivered and we had fun watching them try to maneuver it through the door.
Thursday was Earth, Wind, and Fire day. Boy did we remember. We very badly sang part of their song September in the car on our way home, since we can't listen to it. We also went to the Family History Center for Hermana Beard to do her college hour (an hour every week for the last six months of your mission where you plan for after you get home) and Hermana Cox and I had fun making silly surveys on Google Forms.
Friday was a bad mental health day, I couldn't wake up and when I finally did, I didn't have any energy to do anything. When I finally convinced myself to get out of bed (to use the bathroom), I had an anxiety attack. But my companions are very kind and helpful to me. Finally we got out to do stuff, and had some good lessons.
Saturday we had a lesson with two people who have been taught on and off for several months. They say they like talking with the missionaries, but it's like pulling teeth to get them to come out and actually talk with us. They pretended to not be home, even though we could hear their phone ringing through the door AND the echoes of their voices when they talked. We told them that if they weren't interested in baptism then we would have to stop teaching them. Eventually, we decided that they aren't ready yet and it was such a relief to not have to worry too much about them anymore.
Sunday! Hermana Cox and I had to speak in the Spanish branch, there weren't many people there, only about 10 or so. But I was still so nervous that I forgot to give half of my talk! So we ended way early. Oops. Then we had lunch with President and Sister Gibby, he's a counselor in the mission presidency. Immediately after dinner, we went to the house of one of our friends and she gave us tacos. Then we went straight to our dinner appointment! I was so full by the end of the night.
Monday, Hermana Beard had to go to Pocatello for a leadership meeting (MLC) so we got to meet up with some of the other sisters in the area so all of the Sister Training Leaders could carpool. When we picked her up, it was fun to hear about what they discussed. For dinner we had these tiny cheddar meatloaf ball things. They were pretty good, but the best part was dessert. Homemade cookies with Costco ice cream. Yum.
Anyway, that's all for this week! Thanks for following along!
Hermana Soh
