Transfer 2, semana 3

Holy Cow! It's already halfway through the transfer! So, the trouble with moving into a missionary apartment that previously housed elders, is that when we moved in, there was stuff that was important that we thought was trash and threw away. That being said, we accidentally threw away the board that goes in the window above the AC unit. So we spent most of the week sleeping with the windows open and the screens jerryrigged to fit in the window (one of them had to be taped in. Scotch tape.) but then last night we finally had a new board and the AC installed and it was glorious. I love modern technology. One of the apps we use as missionaries is called AreaBook. It's where we track lessons and plan our days. On Thursday, however, there was a global outage of AreaBook. Which meant that missionaries all over the world were unable to access their plans. I was affected by the outage, and couldn't see any of our plans, but thankfully Hermana Messick was able to access it. Frida...

Transfer 2, semana 2

Have you ever wondered why some eggs are white, some brown, and some other random colors? No? Me neither. Anywho, this week was a little slower than past weeks. Hermana Messick was feeling a little sick (just a cold), so we took the mornings slow so she could rest. We still got out in the evenings though! On Thursday, we had Zone Conference. This one was a little different in that some non-missionary church members were also invited. It was fun to get to see the members and have them exposed to the righteous chaos that is Zone Conference (what else do you expect when there's 50 missionaries in one place??) We also got a new car! It's a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox and it had 170 miles on it when we got it. And Twin Falls is about 100 miles away from Pocatello. I still have no idea how to use a backup camera. Hermana Messick doesn't like the new car, she prefers the Rogues over the Equinoxes, but I don't mind the change. Thursday night, Sister Jacobs found out that Hermana Mes...

Has it really already been six weeks?! This week was a little slower than past weeks but it was still a great one! A note about last week's email: the podcast by Jared Halverson is called Unshaken Saints. (Thanks Aunt Jen!) On Wednesday, Hermana Messick got a new-to-her mattress because her old one was causing her a lot of problems. The couple who helped us was very interesting. The husband assumed that I spoke Korean because my last name is Korean and called someone for me to speak to in Korean! It was very strange. I don't speak Korean, by the way. But Hma Messick is sleeping a lot better now so it was worth it.  Also on Wednesday, we had a video call with Kyle. We came into contact with Kyle in a strange way. We were texting someone else that we are teaching, and he always replied but seemed surprised when we would show up and would forget things that we had sent him. Turns out we had the wrong number! But Kyle said that he felt this was a sign from God and that he would lik...
