Transfer 5, semana 1
It's a new transfer! I have left the small town of Aberdeen for another area, Paul, ID. My companions are Hermana Beard (again!) and Hermana Cox. Hermana Beard is in her last transfer, and will leave us a week early to go home. Hermana Cox is fresh off the plane from the Mexico City MTC, and is doing a great job. I'm the only one in the trio who can drive, since you can't drive your first or last transfer. But we've had a blast!
Wednesday was the day that we were supposed to get transfer news, but it didn't come out until Thursday morning. We had to say goodbye to Hermana Pulu who was going to her originally assigned mission in El Salvador, she was serving here in the IPM while she waited for her visa. I'll miss her but I'm glad she gets to serve the people there.
When we got transfer news, we found out that Hermana Hyde was going to be going to Twin Falls, and I would go to Paul (north of Burley). We also went on a tour of one of the ward members farms. We saw the beet fields, potato fields and the potato cellars. It'll make a great scrapbook page!
Friday was transfers. I packed all my stuff up and we piled into the transfer train, which is actually just a bunch of vans. Hermana Cox and I met at the mission office, and once we got to Burley, we met up with Hermana Beard. We spent the rest of the day unpacking and getting settled. Hermana Cox came fresh from the Mexico MTC and we've been working on Spanish all together.
Saturday we were on our way to one of the towns we work in when we got caught in traffic on the interstate. We were stuck for about an hour and tried to hand out some candies that I had in the car. One car actually took some!! Turns out that there was a semi that had crashed through the guardrail and into the river.
It took them until Sunday evening to get the truck out and we found out it had been full of cereal! That night for dinner we had buffalo steak, and it mostly tasted just like beef steak except the texture was different. We cover three wards, two English and one Spanish. In the Spanish branch, they didn't have anyone to play the piano so we just sang a capella. It didn't sound too good, but that's okay!
Monday was a normal day, except I took a nap and couldn't wake up from it. This happens every few weeks and I feel bad about it because we can't do work but I just feel so tired that I can barely focus. And especially with me being the only one who can drive, me focusing is important. If anyone has any advice, I welcome it. I'm also trying other ways to combat my insomnia.
Today we went to the City of Rocks, which is a national reserve with some really cool rock formations. We went with some other sisters in our area and had a fun time.
Well, that's all. I love you and hope you have a good week!
