Transfer 4, semana 3
Hello!
Lots of small miracles this week. That's one of the beautiful things about being a missionary, we get to see a whole bunch of small miracles everyday. And big ones too.
Wednesday and Thursday were pretty boring, basic days. Nothing to write home about (haha).
On Friday we had a big meeting as a zone, called zone council and we also had interviews with our mission president. During mine, we talked about the family from Kenya and President Herrod said that he would try to make it to the lesson we had planned for Saturday. We know they're ready to be baptized, and they know it too. They just need a little push.
Saturday, we were so hoping that Jim and Dana would set a baptismal date. Hermanas Greenwood, Hyde, and I all fasted for them to make this choice. President and Sister Herrod were able to come to the lesson too. We taught them the Restoration lesson again, it always brings the Holy Ghost. We tried our darnedest to get them on date and they never really agreed to one. I was pretty depressed afterwards and got a milkshake as consolation. Then we sat in the car for a few minutes and Hermana Hyde asked what would make me feel better. I told her I didn't know, but thought to myself that seeing an ice cream truck would make me feel happier. But we are in Aberdeen and there was zero chance that would happen. So we got out of the car and talked with one of our friends for a few minutes, and as we walked back to the car, I heard ice cream truck music. I stopped on the sidewalk and looked around. And down the street came two kids pushing two little ice cream carts with a speaker on top playing music. It was such a happy moment in an otherwise depressing hour.
Sunday, we spoke in church in the Spanish ward. This was only my second talk in Spanish and I was a little worried, but managed to speak about the parable of the 99 sheep for 15 minutes. We also went to English class and had a blast! I will send my talk in
Monday we had exchanges! Sunday night we picked up Hermana Beard and it was a blast. We talked with a whole bunch of people. Some of the other Hermanas nearby had a baptism in the evening so we went to that. We had a good time with Hermana Beard. She only has one and a half transfers left before she goes home and the mission definitely won't feel that same without her.
That's all for this week! I hope you find enjoyment from these emails. I love you all!
