Hello lovely people!

Idaho is really putting this Alabama girl through the wringer. Even though it's April, we woke up yesterday morning to a light dusting of snow. It melted by midday but the wind was brutal. I was trying to change the windshield wipers on our car last night and couldn't do it because my hands were too cold. It snowed yesterday and today in Pocatello, 20 inches! Thankfully I'm in Twin Falls. I miss the warm weather of Mexico.

This week was a strange one, lots of meetings and not a lot of actual lessons. I had my first zone conference on Thursday and, while helpful, was pretty boring. On Friday, a young boy from the Spanish Ward was baptized along with two other kids from another ward. It was so wonderful to see them and how excited they were. After that we went with the family to an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet and one of the Elders and one of the teenage boys from the family had a pizza eating contest. The teenager won with 22 slices, but at a high price... Let's just say that he had a long night. We also had two people say they wanted to get baptized! One of them is Nani, who I talked about last week in my email. The other is Lacey, and her daughter Sara who is 13 said that she would be interested in learning more and maybe being baptized eventually.

Speaking of baptism, I had my first convert baptism yesterday! Anthony is the husband of a new member and he has made so many changes in his life so he could be baptized. He stopped smoking, drinking alcohol and coffee, and there has been such a visible change in him. He was nervous about the baptism but afterwards, we could see how happy he was about his decision.

This past weekend was General Conference. Watching it as a missionary was definitely a different experience than watching it as a regular person. We ran all around town asking people if they wanted to watch it with us. Some people were able to watch with us, others weren't home or weren't able to watch it. When we didn't have investigators or new members to watch with, we went to a member's house and made bead bracelets! We also watched the sessions in an interesting mix of Spanish and English so I'll have to go re-watch some of them. If you haven't watched them, I highly recommend it. I really enjoyed the Saturday morning session.

My spiritual thought for this week comes from the Book of Mormon. After Christ's resurrection and ministry to the Jews, he left them to appear to his other believers. In 3 Nephi 11, Christ appears to the Nephites. Since Easter is this weekend, I thought I would share this scripture with you. 3 Nephi 11:13-14, "And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto them saying: Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world." Dear readers, I testify that Christ lives! The tomb was empty that Easter morning and He was resurrected. What are your thoughts on Easter?

What a wonderful thing to have a living Savior. I love Easter, and I love all of you.

Happy Easter! Love and prayers,
Hermana Soh
